Hotels and Casinos Using Solar Power
In less than a hundred years, our oil fields would dry up as scientists have predicted. This prediction has led many of these scientists as well as researchers, and even amateur inventors to create devices and machines that produce cleaner and safer energy from renewable energy sources such as wind power, geothermal power, and hydropower.
One of the most promising of sources is the sun, which showers the Earth with enormous amounts of energy. Advanced technology has enabled us to use this energy. The problem is that we have been using oil for our power needs far too long that it is somewhat difficult for us to rely completely and shift to another power source.
Nevertheless, there are entities who use solar energy to promote its use and, at the same time, save on costs while helping reduce pollution. Some of these entities are power-intensive hotels and casinos that opt to use solar power to save on energy bills. For example, the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada is using solar energy to power their DJ booths, stages, sound systems, and lighting systems.
In Atlantic City in New Jersey, which is a major gambling centre in the United States, the Atlantic City Convention Centre is powered by a gigantic single-roof solar array, the largest in the United States. Meanwhile, another casino hotel, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto, California, is solar powered. The technology provides heat, light, hot water, and power to casino machines while reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
